This is the only story I've written in the past six or seven months, based on my growing interest in 'steampunk' (but as the story marches on it becomes more fantastical in nature). As I say in the afterthoughts, I tried a little harder on this one, and unlike all my older works, this is finished. It's novel length, well over 100,000 words, but I've finished the whole thing, so there's no need to worry about me forgetting the story and leaving it unfinished. I'll be posting each chapter gradually. Anyways, here's the link...

I have enjoyed reading the first installment of your story. It has just the right amount of information to envoke curiosity as to the who and what and why without drowning one in details. Each scene gives just enough detail to give life to the story before moving on to the next scene; which adds incentive to go on reading to find out what happens next; while satisfying some of the curiosity of former scenes.
I have not been this excited to read a work of fiction in years.
Thank you

I agree with Thomas C ; It's an interesting start: we've got "the kaiser" style that we love ! It's even more subtle than usual... I am religiously waiting the next instalment..! Thanks for giving us a new story
And while we're asking, Smells Like Sapphic Spirit since it looks to be one of the oldest of your unfinished stories? An update for The Expatriates would be awesome too. I'm sure your readers all have their favourites that they are hoping you'll add to. :) I’ll be starting Clockwork Valkyrie shortly with much interest.
So I'm reading this story on Nifty and I'm about a third of the way into it and I'm thinking 'you know who this sounds like?' Then I blocked it out because I'm sure that guy quit for some reason.
I'll be damned if this story didn't turn out to be one of yours.
Welcome back friend. I saved a warm seat by the fire for you and I'm ready to listen when you're ready to talk.
