Hi again, this was a good chapter, introductions were nicely done (I recall Jenny and Holly from the Misadventures series). 'The world's collide' part at the end was amusing and will be fun to watch in future chapters. The evolving background to Kris and Paige was intriguing; no doubt there will be further details divulged on that front. I was also very pleased to see Bonnie getting a look in here, loved the confused state she's in. That can't last indefinitely of course, but her 'crippling fear of intimacy' (chapter one I think) is an interesting dynamic that you can do a lot with. Grappling with one's emotions seems to be another emerging theme in this story, as well as friendship. Looking forward to more.

ohh I'm really starting to like this story! It's so cute! Good job.
Just a thought for future chapters, you can do what you like with it, but I wondered if perhaps Bonnie's first crush mentioned in Sonata 2 ("The first (and perhaps only) crush she had had was on an old friend of hers, quite a few years ago. That person happened to be female too.") could be discussed as a harbinger to her emerging feelings for Kris? It just seems like her confusion deserves some historical context, if you will. Kind of like a search for Kris (looking at crowds), carried out alongside a deeper 'search for self'. I'm dragging myself into gibberish here! Love the title Zone Defence, quite appropriate. Look forward to more as usual.

Hmm. I never considered that, Operculum. One thing I think sets Bonnie apart from other 'shy girl' protagonists is that she grasps her sexuality. Doesn't have a proper handle on it yet, but she knows what she is. It's logical that her first crush played a big part in Bonnie's understanding of herself. You know, I think I might expand on that in future chapters.
