Final Fantasy: Revenant Wings

This game Revenant Wings, a spin-off of Final Fantasy XII, was released a while ago, but I only bought my DS in December, so I'm a little behind, handheld-wise. That being said, I've been playing the heck out of this game recently, and I love it now. I didn't at first, as the hero cast of Final Fantasy XII (with the notable exceptions of Fran and Balthier) were kind of... meh, to be honest with you.

Ashe was dull, Vaan was the most inconsequential and insignificant FF hero EVER (seriously, his brother Reks, though he appears only a couple of times throughout the entire game, plays more of role in the plot than Vaan does), Penelo was cool but just as cutting-room-floor-worthy as Vaan, and Basch was boring despite having such an interesting back story. From a cast perspective, it was the villains of FFXII that made the difference. Vayne was a political titan right out of the Machiavelli playbook (otherwise known as The Prince) and was without a doubt the deepest, hardest working antagonist in the FF series since Kefka. The Archadian Judges were much the same way, though you don't see them frequently, they all shine with particular grace and intellect, especially Drace and Gabranth (who in many ways feels to me like this game's true tragic hero, FAR more so than his twin brother Basch, which is probably why Gabranth is on the Dissidia roster).

Revenant Wings seems to have the same problem. Lame heroes (Vaan, Tomaj, Kytes, Filo) but excelsior antagonists, namely, Judge of Wings. For a character with a sprite half the size of my fingernail this woman is TOUGH. Believably so. And utterly cool. You don't believe me? Just look at her artwork. Doesn't that strike you as someone who could gut you like a fish?

If only just to fight Judge of Wings, I can't wait to play through more of this game.

Heh, heh, heh, heh!

Well, I suppose I do have a lot of interests. I tend to read more when I'm out and about, on the train, bus or a tram. The writing I do early mornings most of the time (or sometimes at the library) and sleep? Meh, sleep is overrated. I get about six hours of it, that's more than enough.

And, unfortunatly, I've never played Everquest. That's an MMORPG, right? What's it like?

Yeah, some games can be really addictive if you get into them. I've never played a MMORPG, though. I always considered playing Phantasy Star Universe but I never got around to it.
